Norman J. Peer, retired Superior Court Judge, joined Lomurro Law as of counsel in our Corporate Law Department and will concentrate his practice on mediation and arbitration. On July 31, 1997, Norman Peer was sworn in as a Superior Court Judge in New Jersey in the Family Division in Freehold serving until September 9, 2006 when he reached the mandatory retirement age. He was responsible for handling matters involving dissolution of marriages, motion practice, child custody, support issues, and domestic violence. During his tenure in the Family Division, he advised his fellow Judges on corporate and securities matters in several complex divorce cases as well. For five years, Judge Peer served as the lead Judge in the Children in Court calendar, hearing abuse and neglect and termination of parental rights cases presented by the Division of Youth and Family Services. In addition, he heard domestic violence and criminal contempt cases. Judge Peer served as the Municipal Court Judge in Atlantic Highlands from 1972 to 1988.
